Laser Treatment Explained

Electrolysis and Laser Hair Removal

Preparation

Shave the Area - Shaving the area the night before your session is ideal. If hairs are shaved to soon, they rest too high on the skin, and attenuate and absorb too much energy

No Makeup - Makeup forms a barrier that often contains pigments, may disperse light and clog pores.

No Moisturizers - The laser gel used to improve the quality of the procedure often pulls out any excess moisturizer from the pores. This turns the gel cloudy and opaque, thereby attenuating the energy and lowering the quality of the work.

We Use the E-Luxx 4 in 1

Despite its name, it has several functions.

Electrolysis and Laser Hair Removal

808nm Diode Laser: Hair Removal

The Primary laser for hair removal as stated above. This head comes with a water cooled refrigerating surface that is intended to bring down the surface temperature of the clients skin down before zapping. When combined with a cooling gel it allows us to fire on the highest possible settings.

2

1024nm Nd:Yag Laser: Tattoo Removal

This handpiece fires extremely fast, high energy flashes that target a very small surface area. They are designed to be absorbed by the pigment in tattoo ink - Resulting microscope particles that your immune system will finish off.

It is also quite capable at destroying sunspots, blemishes and moles and can be especially effective for spot hair removal treatments for darker skin

3

Radio Frequency Reshaping

Radiofrequency uses radiowaves to heat the skin below the surface in a way that causes small amounts of damage. Similar to our platelete rich plasma microneedling, this stimulates the production collagen, elastin and blood vessels and in so doing reduces fine lines and wrinkles - it can even be used to regrow widows peaks and beards for transmascs!

4

Intense Pulse Light Phototherapy: Skin Rejuvination

IPL treatments are high energy treatments that use a broad spectrum of wavelengths simultaneously. They are less focussed on doing a single task extremely well, but can be applied towards doing providing number of skin and hair treatments.

Depending on the wavelength and filters chosen, the IPL arm can be calibrated to focus one task over others.

5

Intense Pulse Light Phototherapy: Vascular Therapy

The next filter allows the destruction of small blood vessels, commonly found as we age, and especially common as we load up on maybe a little too much estrogen.

6

Intense Pulse Light Phototherapy: Hair Removal

The wavelength of IPL is broad and its fluence is high. This means it is capable to being absorbed by a wide variety of hair pigment types.

7

Intense Pulse Light Phototherapy: Acne Removal

Even just one treatment can do wonders for people who suffer with prolonged acne. It is also able to play a small role in reversing acne scarring. What cant this machine do?

8

Intense Pulse Light Phototherapy: Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is unfortunately a common potential risk of electrolysis treatment, and is easily the most commonly seen complication in transgender women with darker skin tones.
